A careers information resource for young people, their teachers and advisers.

On the Spot forms an integral part of Career Companion Extra’s Bespoke web-based service for SEND and PRU libraries, as well as younger pupil engagement at KS2-3. It comprises fifty clear and accessible information sheets about job and training opportunities for young people. They are designed to support individual and group activities and can be printed out or photocopied.

Each title is illustrated and covers the practical aspects of jobs such as day to day tasks, working times, equipment and skills as well as ideas for other related career areas. The carefully selected web links will help young people discover more about each job role, as well as general information about apprenticeships and traineeships.

The resource can provide insights for young people preparing for work experience.

It can also be used in conjunction with online assessment programs such as Careersoft’s Job Explorer Database (JED).

On the Spot will help you meet some of the Gatsby benchmarks, particularly Benchmark 2: Learning from career and labour market information.
